Ok people...
In an attempt to end this annoying impasse, here are my three proposals for Pseudo-Christmas:
1.) Friday, December 22. 2006 at 9:00PM at Twill's mom's apartment.
Reasons:
- Kris is off work by by 8:00PM on that night, giving him an hour to wrap up affairs and show up.
- Scorpio has her first day of Winter Break.
- Twill and Obsidian will have been in town for roughly two days, allowing time to relax, hang out with family etc.
- Later than the 19th, so hopefully it will work with Natrix's schedule.
- It's at 9:00PM, so I should off work by then, but it's a Friday night so it's hard to say.... (I may have to show up later, say around 9:30).
Disadvantages:
- A little too late for my taste.
- Cut-off time is going to be 10:30; there's no way that I'm going to keep Jamie's mom (or anyone else, for that matter) up past 10:30.
- Leaves only about an hour or so for all us to talk and catch up (that's not enough time!!!).
2.) Friday, December 29, 2006 at ~1:30PM at ???
Reasons:
- Kris will have been back for a day from Victoria.
- Farther away from the 19th, hopefully meshing in with Natrix's schedule.
- It's in the afternoon, which seems to be a better time for most people (judging from comments made on the post).
- Fits in with Starwing's and Obsidian's schedules.
- If we schedule the time earlier or later, we could even gather a particular house, go out and have some fun and then return to PC. Oh what a wonderful affair it will be!!! :-D
Disadvantages:
- Post-Acutal Christmas
- Quite close to New Year's, maybe hard to fit into people's schedules
3.) Thursday, January 4, 2007!!!! (1 ATC!!!) at ~1:30PM at ???
Reasons:
- Post New Year's... people should start to be getting back into the groove in preparation for a new semester (*DIES*)
- Most people should have recovered from any wild drinking on New Year's Eve.
- Again, if we schedule a time earlier or later, we could do a get-together aussi!
- For Natrix, it's FAR away from Dec. 19. (Would there be ample time for you to get your assignments done?)
Disadvantages:
- Post-Actual Christmas
- Haven't heard about January schedule details from most people.
So... to try to resolve this impasse, those are my three proposals. I vote the 3rd option. Now, let us please do this in a democratic fashion and I sincerely hope that admist work schedules, spending time with family, doing assignments and hanging out with other friends that each of us will be able to take a few hours from our lives to do this thing TOGETHER. It's been forever since I've seen so many of you, and damn it, I miss you all. So help me out here and respond to this post ASAP and lets get this !#$#@^@#%$# show ON THE ROAD!!!.

Has anyone extended a formal invitation to Erin? I've just noticed that her invite to join WIBOM is still unanswered.... I mean.... I know that Twill, Nyx and myself bought her presents, but does she acutally know that this is going on?

Just so that you guys know, I'm going to be buying the parent(s) of our hosting home a small gift as a sign of appreciation and gratitude for allowing our festivities to occur at their house; We're young, slowly maturing adults now, and this simple gesture is something that etiquette demands. I'm not asking you guys to chip in or anything (although that would be much appreciated), but just letting you know ahead of time that I'm going to be doing this on behalf of all of us. I hope this will not be an issue with any of you?

A couple things - If it happens on the 22nd with my place being the spot, it doesn't have to start that late. We can start the visiting and stuff earlier, and once everyone's around we can do presents and stuff. I know, it's going to cut visiting short for some people, but I'm pretty sure there will be opportunities to catch up later and stuff. I'm just getting that out there.
Natrix - rock on. It's great if you can host. Your basement is a place of fond memories.
As for Erin - I've given her the link to wibom as far as xmas gift wishes and told her plans for PC are going on, but I have no idea if she's looked or anything. I intend, next time I see her, to get some kind of definite answer in regards to everything. But for now, I'm not sure. She might be working, she might not. I'll have to get back to you.
And yeah - for post-xmas stuff, there's still a chance that my mom would be up for hosting. It's not definite, as I'm not sure of my Christmas schedule with family and everything, but an afternoon thing should be fine. And the cut-off would still be 10:30, although I doubt we'd need that long. If we do go post-xmas route, though, I would prefer option 2 also, because 3 is getting rather close to coming back up to Edmonton and everything. Yeah.
Okay, I go for option 2 as well. Although I'm not 100% sure whether or not I'm going somewhere. But let's just say, I'm firmly against option 1.
In response to Rubin's email:
1st choice: Option 1 with a better time frame. Say, 5-10:30 ish. Enough time for some visiting, presents, food and everything. There will be other chances to meet and greet so no worries. Also, if Natrix's house is available there's always the possibility of it going later or something. Natrix wins.
2nd choice: Since it comes to after Christmas, I would prefer option 2 because it's a little easier to work around. And stuff.
Here's to hoping for a quick decision.
My preferences:
First choice - Option 1
Second choice - Option 2
Third choice - Option 3
As stated before, option 1 does not have to start at 9pm.
Also, Obsidian told me to tell you guys that she votes for option 3, and doesn't really want option 1.
Is there any way we could find another time? None of these would really work.
I mean, I guess OPTION 1 is the best for me, but I couldn't really make the other two since I work Thursdays. (I could come for like half and hour, and that would suck royally)
Are there no dates that fall between Monday and Wednesday that would be good since I don't work those days?
