OMG It's Twill!

And she comes with a request :)

So, for my English 299 class I need to write a portfolio essay that involves research. There's no way I'm doing another analytical, read a crappy essay write a crappy essay, thing, so I'm going for the personal angle. The thing is, with a research component to it, I'm supposed to have something like photographs or interviews to incorporate. So I thought about it while I was supposed to be doing other things (oh Eng 299, what am I supposed to be learning from you?) and came up with something. But I need help.

If you have a spare moment in your hectic schedules of term papers, group projects, social events and arting, I would adore you if you could send me an email with a brief blurb detailing a moment in school that you had. It can be a few sentences, it can be pages and pages, whatever you like. The experience can be good or bad, about classes and teachers or extra-cirricular activities and making friends. Just so long as there is some relation to school, I'm open to anything and everything.

Preferably I would like general experiences. So instead of, "Mrs. Smith was bad because..." something like "I liked grade 10 English because..." would work better. That said, if you have very speciffic moments where something really good or bad happened to you that you want to share, those are fine. I can use them. If you want to mention a time you won an award or got a really good mark on your Shakespeare essay, awesome. I'm also looking for something in the junior high to high school range moreso than early years or university.

The timeline I'm looking at is to recieve this blurb in the next week-week-and-a-half, two weeks most (but the sooner the better as I procrastinate like any good student, not to mention there are crazy things happening in my life from time to time, too). Email would be the most appreciated as I have no idea how to reference something said on a blog comment page. When the whole thing is cobbled together and done to the best of my ability, I would be happy to share it with whomever would like to see it. In anticipation of your help, I thank thee.

And so this post isn't just me asking for help, I shall take a random life story moment. It is called, "Oh, Jeremy Irons."

Over the weekend I saw Eragon with a friend. I know, I know, I've said to some of you I had no interest in it, and I know it's a horrible rip-off of every fantasy 'epic' cliche there is, but it was $3.50, fit our time frame, and it had dragons. You should all know how much I love dragons. (Very mild, probably non-existant spoilers ahead).

It was exactly what you'd expect. I suppose I had the benefit of not reading the books, so I wasn't squirming in my seat thinking, "No, you fools! So and so isn't like that at all! AUGH!" like I have in other situations *coughTroycough* But it was still pretty bad. You could see things coming a mile away. Great for the youngin's and their parents, I guess. The dragon(s) were pretty cool, I give it that, but I'm still trying to understand why they had feathered wings... (Were they even feathers? Maybe they were scales that happened to look like feathers?)

The friend and I made our own amusement, however. Every time Jeremy Irons appeared on-screen, I leaned over to whisper, "Omg it's Jeremy Irons!" to which she would reply, "He's British, you know." This lost effectiveness about half-way through, but it was still awesome. Jeremy Irons knew all. Jeremy Irons would kick Eragon's ass if only the fate of the world didn't depend on him. Jeremy Irons is the best darn part of the entire film.

Oh, Jeremy Irons. Why were you in Eragon?

Mr. Jones thing still up for grabs. ;)

So is the story of how I became "cursed" when it came to teachers. >_>

He's in Eragon because his money for The Lion King died.

That movie is such a blatant rip off of Lord of the Rings and even Star Wars. George Lucas should beat that Christopher dude into submission. Into bloody submission.

I'll think about the incidences thing, but this week will be my hell.

I'll get thinking about my school moment, for sure. Expect it this weekend, maybe? This week was terrible. x_x

Nyx - Mr. Jones thing/cursed story works for me. If you wouldn't mind typing up a brief blurb about it and emailing me? (Or I suppose a voice clip or you could make me take notes while you ramble..)

Obsidian - Oh, I know it's a rip off. I knew that before I went. Still, go Jeremy Irons. As for the memorable moment, no rush. Sometime within the next week and a half would be awesome.

Natrix - Yay, we're LJ/blogger buddies :) And as I mentioned for Obsidian, there's no big rush. Even just a few sentences is fine. I know how busy you (and everyone) are.

Thanks for the help :)!
