May I also recommend...

Talking to OB on MSN and sorta trading movie recs, she fixated on some scene in the movie she was recommending featuring extended male nudity, and sex in another film, Y Tu Mama Tambien (borne of me expressing interest in Children of Men's director's other films).

I was consequently reminded of a movie I'd seen recently, on a recommendation months old by now from a friend at school.

First, to Starwing: avoid this movie. In fact, if it is playing within 10 km of you, relocate, lol (but wait--I watched it early this week!). Not to diss you or anything, but if you were to sit in, you'd be hiding through 90% of the movie anyway. ;)

The movie is Shortbus. People probably know more about the scandal than the movie itself, the scandal being that it deals very heavily with sex, practically every stripe of it, and features unsimulated scenes of it--meaning, those actors really are enjoying themselves. :P

So why even recommend it? Because I thought it was pretty darned hilarious, and one of the most human films I've ever seen. Make no mistake, it's also fairly serious in what it explores, but much is lighthearted. Don't label it as porn--it doesn't really titillate so much as feel honest, goofy, and...human, I suppose. Not degrading in the least...but certainly, if occasional bodily fluids and odd positions are too much (which is quite understandable), avoid Shortbus at all costs. It's obviously not a movie you'd show to your parents either...not because I fear their freak out, but it'll be oh so awkward.

To give an idea of what one can expect, the best scenes in my opinion (I still grin just thinking about them), without being spoilery: dominatrix sharing something with a therapist, vibrator, male threesome. The last...I can bet that no one could even think of what is done here, such is its hilarity / absurdity!

Of course you want to share the Short bus love. Eventually I shall see it, but it's not available for download over here. And I doubt I would spend money to rent it. Alas. You can describe it to me in person or something. Watching An Inconvenient Truth, and of course I haven't finished it, but watching the receding glaciers is oh so sad. Visit the glaciers before they're gone, but more importantly, do something to be more environmentally friendly!

Dunno how well I'd do describing everything. ^^; The peoples get creative, and it's one thing to witness, it's quite another to try and put into words without feeling horribly...odd. :P
