Fabulous news! (Thanks OB)

This will be of interest to Twill, Starwing, and *especially* myself. I can barely contain myself. =3

The long and short of it: HBO will be turning Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" into a TV series!! Impressed by HBO's many series like The Sopranos and Rome, Martin once said that if this ever happened, he'd love for HBO to do it. So it was meant to be...

Nothing's cast, written, or shot yet, but it's going to happen. :)

Whoo!

Hm... I'm not familiar with the shows. (big surprise) But I trust your judgement.

I'll even break my long-standing tradition and actually watch it on TV rather than on the computer. ^^

Any idea when it's going to come out?

OMG YAY!

*does a happy dance in her dark dorm room when she should really be sleeping but this is far more important!*

It would definitely be awesome if you kept us current should you find out more details, such as airdate or casting or just about anything. But this is awesome. A fantasy book series I enjoy coming to life! Joy!

Not my judgement; I've wanted to watch Rome (no time, will do so in summer), but it's well known that HBO has won many awards, including Oscars, for series and movies they've produced.

There's no word adequate enough to give this news due justice in terms of celebration. XD XD XD

If I can locate a source out there in Webland that keeps track of developments for the series, I'll be sure to share. :) With casting, we can debate based on their features alone if they're right for a part, and get even more worked up!

One thing I remember reading was that they'll either film in Australia or New Zealand. I hope they go for the latter, with how glorious Lord of the Rings looked shot there!

Natrix, can you give a link to where you read this? *Cuz I'm stuck in chemistry right now...*

*Crosses fingers and hopes the people are beautiful* Well, moderately beautiful is ok.

Should air a long time from now, right?

Oh Natrix,
And you didn't even mention that I was the bearer of the good news. Yes, HBO is the bomb, and yes Rome is bloody good. SO bloody good and expensive that it can't go beyond the second season. Oh well, it's like Gladiator but with more nudity, and more violence and more British accents! Starwing, I got it off comingsoon.net, and ainitcoolnews.com. I'm too lazy to get a direct link. Or maybe not.

I'll eventually read this, but only if the tv series turns out well. But I hope you know you'll have to wait a while, I'm guessing a minimum of 2 years.
