Oh, Knut. Yah, he was circulated in the news 3-4 weeks back, because of the public rallying in support of the bear inside and outside of Germany.
Animal experts and such were saying that Knut shoulda been left to die after he was rejected by his mother, but keepers intervened to feed and raise him to how he is now. They say that now he is far too dependent on and used to humans, which is I guess to be avoided at all costs, maybe for any chance of him being released. So they advocated that Knut be killed.
You can imagine the reaction to that, and Knut has since been a sort of celebrity polar bear.
