I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner...

That is what I truly wish to be. It's Oscar night, but I don't think I'll watch it, because the movies are kinda sucky this year and not really compelling, and the acting awards are pretty much a deadlock. I hope everyone had a glorious reading week, I actually wish I could relive it again, and spend less time lounging about. I've made grand plans in advance for next year's Reading Week. Hopefully, I'll go to Disneyworld or somewhere in the U.S. with my housemates, and we shall cavort. I've never been, so I must make up for missing it all out when I was a wee little lassie.

I've noticed that all of the Asian guys I'm meeting here at Queens are all alike, it's a clone army, and not even the hot Star Wars kind.

I saw Good Bye Lenin!

It was good and touching (particularly the ending), but I just couldn't say it was amazing. I guess from the beginning, it was simply too over the top to me, although I realize it's meant to be amusing and not meant to be taken realistically.

Did I say it was amazing? I'm not even that much of a foreign films lover. It was surprisingly touching. That is all.

Did you manage to watch the Oscars? Because I predicted most of the major ones, except for Best Supporting Actor. And I thought Pan's Labryinth would win a lot more, like Best Foreign Film and Best Music. And I had no idea that An Inconvenient Truth would win Best Song. Just comes to show that people liked the message, not the actual song. I mean, Poor Dreamgirls... They had 3 nods in that category.

p.s. I've rediscovered my love for Backstreet Boys. It may seem like I"m regressing. But they're popppiness, is just glorious. Beats listening to emo-music all the time and feeling all depressy.

My guesses were pretty much all correct in the major categories, excepting Best Pic. I, along with most others, thought that was going to Babel.

But I had caught wind of Germany's "The Lives of Others" as being a surprise powerhouse, taking several Best Foreigns before the Oscars. It was described as, "If it wasn't German, it'd win Best Pic." So I chose them on this news, and wasn't surprised, and now I want to see that (and it's German! :D )
