the title is kinda self-explanatory, but i don't agree with the list obviously, it doesn't even have luke skywalker or darth vader. and batman is ranked ahead of superman! But it does have Buffy, so i am contented. But I fail to see how influential Oedipus is, except as a cautionary tale I guess. One of you guys should be happy that Odysseus is on the list.

Ok.... I have HUGE beef with the list that stupid USA Today compiled. Number 93 "The Great Gatsby" is the name of a BOOK not a person... GET YOUR FRICKIN' FACTS STRAIGHT!!!! If you're (that is, USA Today) is reffering to "Gatsby", then the proper name of the dude is JAY GATSBY!!! STUPID USA TODAY! WON'T GET THEIR FACTS STRAIGHT!
Btw, Obsidian, Luke Skywalker is on the list... he's number 85.

Okay.. I have some issues with this list as well. I don't know how TWO people can equal one influential person. It seems more like they used a lot of titles of books and things, or maybe ran out of room (Dionysus and Apollo? wth?)
Plus some of these... HOW are they influential? Or is this influential in a positive or negative way? 'cause if not... Norman Bates (among others?)
I am happy, however, with the volume of Greek figures although I would totally have picked some others to replace some of them, like Midas and freakin' Oedipus...
Here are some of my thoughts:

14. Oedipus -ZOMG! *has a seizure – no – has A BAJILLION seizures!* HOW IS HE INFLUENTIAL?!
23. Apollo and Dionysus – Okay. THEY ARE TWO PEOPLE. THEY AREN’T RELATED EXCEPT MAYBE THROUGH DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE STORY OF ORPHEUS. ARGH!
24. Odysseus Yes! YES! Odysseus needs to KILL Oedipus.
29. Midas - … Uhuh… Midas as influential…
45. Venus and Cupid – TWO people. TWO. And ROMAN? Wth…
46. Prometheus XD Yeah, I’d want him around. Could Epimethus come too?
47. Pandora – Uh… Yes. The woman who’s responsible for death and disease. I guess she’s influential in a bad way.
60. Batman – Go Batman! Who can kick Superman’s butt? That’s right, you can!
72. Othello – Erm. Sure. Just keep him away from handkerchiefs.
76. Hercules (Herakles) – My hero!
80. Icarus – Awwww. If only you could live again and correct your mistakes. You could write a book: “Listen To Your Father.”
88. Pygmalion – A definite icon for artists everywhere.
That was so stupid. You so know that "Paul Bunyon" was only added because they ran out of people.
Also, Buffy wasn't far enough up. And where the bloody hell were the Gilmore Girls?! (Also, Angel was missing)
